The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you. The most brilliant blog we’ve seen this week (present company excepted, of course): Cake Wrecks showcases professional cake-work gone terribly, hilariously wrong. Our favorite is the STD-riddled fruit. Enjoy! It’s a scene that might make Editor Jim regret giving up on a big wedding. Want to feel old? Then read about college students not knowing what Watergate symbolizes,......

Like most nerd girls, this Phillyist admits to harboring a honking crush on one John Krasinski, normally seen mugging his way through scenes on NBC's The Office and now...er, mugging his way through scenes in Warner Brothers' License to Wed opposite Mandy Moore and Robin Williams. That said, this Phillyist also harbors a certain trepidation towards: 1) Romantic comedies about weddings and misunderstandings. 2) Mandy Moore. (We're really sorry, Mandy. We're sure you're terribly sweet......

What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Cities of the Underworld (Mon, 9PM-10PM, History Channel) - Ooh, secret underground cities! Well, sort of. This new show takes a look at the history buried beneath famous cities of the world. In this first episode they find dungeons and illegal distilleries under Edinburgh. Here's hoping a Philadelphia episode is coming up soon... Real Wedding Crashers (Mon, 10PM-11PM, NBC) - A new six-part hidden-camera comedy series from......

This Sunday evening the World Cafe will host, at their Downstairs Live venue, a CD release party/performance by a truly unique act: Klingon Klez. They're local, unless you believe their press release (which says the band is "made up of genuine aliens disguised as of some of Philly's best-known jazz, funk and dixieland musicians"), but we're betting they'll sound pretty foreign to most of you. That's because they play a traditional Jewish style of music......

Try not to panic - but the dreaded pink, red and doily-clad holiday, St. Valentine's, is only a week away. If you're on the lookout for something to do other than you traditional dinner and a movie, Philly's got some less-than-ordinary Valentine themed attractions going on. (And to our single brethren, these events are also singles friendly): Q-Licious in the Park: Spiral Q Puppet Theatre will be bringing Cupid and their giant puppets to Love......

Something old, something new; sure the adage actually applies to weddings - but if you're looking for something to do this weekend that involves a little history synergy without the need for life-long committment, you could always check out Alfred Hitchcock's (old) silent film, The Lodger, which will be presented with a (new) live film score, performed by Relâche. Phillyist, for one, loves an evening of live music and suspense. (Especially one that doesn't require......
