Penn Scientists Featured in HBO's "The Alzheimer's Project"

We spend more time talking with our families about the health threats that won’t affect us than acting on the ones that do. It is easier to hypothesize over swine flu than it is to discuss hereditary diseases—isn't it? Most of us don't want to talk about our loved ones getting sick because we fear losing them, we fear taking care of them, and we fear our own mortality. HBO's The Alzheimer's Project, a four-part documentary airing this week, challenges this thought pattern.

We used to like CollegeHumor, but they're going to take their new TV show as an opportunity to insult Philadelphia and ruin one of our favorite sitcoms of the 90s, we're not sure we can get on the bandwagon.

Animosity Pierre, whose video we featured earlier today, is one step closer to becoming universal (if not "everybody"), having been featured today on Time's Entertainment blog. Score one for the home team! Now seriously, how are they [spoiler alert: highlight blank space] ?

Lost has absolutely nothing to do with Philadelphia. But Animosity Pierre does, and so we're posting this video for your enjoyment. Leave your theories about the Oceanic Six in the comments section. We'd love to see them!

And it all started in Philly...

Fun around town, for $10 or less:

Philebrity reminds us it's been 25 years since we saw Philly's favorite reporter, Jim O'Brien.

Watch out Rachael Ray. A local resident may give you a run for your EVOO. Aaron McCargo Jr. from Camden was the winner of the fourth season of the Food Network's Next Food Network Star. McCargo, along with ten other finalists, went through weeks of crazy missions including a throwdown with Bobby Flay to prove he was the next star. McCargo's prize? His own show called "Big Daddy's Kitchen," which premieres in early August. Adam Gertler from South Philly was also one of the final three finalists. The Food Network is currently casting for the next season. Let's do it again, Philly.

TelePhillyist doesn't usually publish on the weekends, but we just had to sneak on and let you know that even geeks who don't care about football have a good reason to tune into the Super Bowl tonight. At approximately 7:30PM, a new ad for the upcoming Iron Man film (due for release May 2nd) will premiere during the game. Shortly after its TV debut, the ad will be available on Apple.com, Marvel.com, and the official Iron Man website at IronManMovie.com. Additional sites, including Yahoo Sports! and ESPN.com, will carry the ad the following day. And yeah, that pic up there comes from the TV spot. Pretty wicked, huh?
