In April we called on our readers to submit their photos for the inaugural Phillyist Framed photography contest and show. The people at Studio 34 Yoga, the Phillyist staff, and of course, the selected winners have been busy organizing the event and turning digital camera files into professionally-framed prints. Now, here's where you come in: we'd love to have our readers and their guests on hand to celebrate with us. Use any of the......

We've all gotten cheap laughs out of cute, adorable kittens on the Internet, whether dressed in costume or pleading for nourishment, so it's about time we give back to the feline community. Leading the charge is City Kitties Rescue, a small group of pro-active volunteers who rescue stray cats and kittens in Philadelphia, foster them back to good health, and adopt them out to new homes. Tonight head over to Studio 34 in West Philadelphia......

We bring you the buzz in the 215 blogs this week. Phawker is running a "Question the Parking Authority" contest. It's really not so much a contest as a challenge—a dare, if you will. Regardless, we like the idea and the prize. The Philadelphia Turkey took a look at the new slogan on the former "Trenton Makes" bridge. We know a guy who has that bridge tattooed across his back. Time for a touch......

You’ll have to wait until the end of the week to catch these babies, but trust us: they’re worth it. Crazy-ass acrobats/dancers/athletes of the highest order Pilobolus are coming to the Annenberg for four performances, the first Thursday night at 7:30PM. The troupe uses costumes, props, and intense aerial work coupled with some traditional dance moves to create spectacles unlike any you’ve probably seen before, at least on a “dance” stage. (In case you’re wondering,......

We bring you the buzz from the 215 blogs this week: Philebrity was as annoyed as we are with Philadelphia Gay News publisher Mark Segal's daily "one question for Obama" emails—especially since there is NO QUESTION MARK in the email. Oh... no question, Mark... no pun intended. Heh. The Philadelphia Turkey wrote about the battle for control of shrubbery at the Delaware Avenue casinos. The satire stars DiCicco and Nutter in the modern day version......

For those of you on the left side of the Schuylkill, it’s time to give a warm sun salutation to your new neighbors on 45th and Baltimore: Studio 34 founders and longtime West Philly residents Angela Norris, James Peniston, and Stephen Fisher. With their respective backgrounds in Eastern practices, nursing, and community arts, these friends spent the past year renovating the huge, gutted space above Fiesta Pizza into a wellness center designed around the needs......

It might seem to you, the casual reader, that Phillyist is everywhere, covering everything from theatre to concerts to film – but every once in a while, there's an event that we don't cover and we really wish we had. Enter The Artclash! Collective's Fun-a-Day 4 event that took place on Saturday. Fortunately for us, although we couldn't be there, Studio 34 Yoga, which hosted the event, put up a nice little timelapse video so......
