There's a new restaurant reviewing website in town, and we think it's pretty neat. Urbanspoon works as a local restaurant review aggregator, finding reviews of eating establishments city-wide and combining them with user rankings to come up with an overall score, a la Rotten Tomatoes. Urbanspoon will also tell you its current top restaurants in the city, give you reviews by cuisine, neighborhood, or price, and even features a few "specialty" categories (vegan, gluten-free, delivery,......

So enjoy this afternoon's glut of lists from your friendly neighborhood bloggers, and we'll see you next year! You know those songs that take over your headphones for weeks at a time? Well, the youngest alternative-rocker on the Phillyist staff decided to put all those infectious tunes into......

Every weekday of December (except for December 25, that is), Phillyist will be counting down to 2008 with our highlights from the past year and our predictions for the next. If you have a list you'd like to submit, let us know! I'm a music guy. I listen to a ton of music, and because of Phillyist, I've been able to hear a lot of great stuff I never would have heard otherwise. But, no......

A sad week for LAist as they lose their trusted and amazing editor Tony Pierce to the LA Times, but what a blast his last week was. He shared his 25 Favorite CDs of 2007 and wrote a great review of just a good movie, No Country For Old Men. At UCLA, thousands of students celebrated the end of their quarter by running around campus in their undies (lots of photos in a two-part......

Performances: A Twilight Performance of Spoon River Anthology (The Late Laureates of Laurel Hill ) (No Future Showtimes.) Pulling up the rear in this edition of the Phillyist Philly-Live-Fringical-of-Arts Diary series we celebrate the ultimate Halloween pre-game. Just in time for CVS' pre-pre-trick-or-treating candy fest comes a reading from the dead in a place of the dead with a cast and audience pretty close to death themselves (I jest, of course. Respect your elders kids!)......

The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. You seriously need to read this freaking hilarious post by Scott Adams about monkeys, Republicans, sex, and holograms out of the distant past. The Laugh-Out-Loud Cats are pleasantly retro, and yet at the same time, very much of-the-moment. They are also funny. (Via) It's new Bruce, for free on the iTunes! You know you want it. (Via) And while we're talking......

Londonist are starting to think their city is getting just a little bit too expensive, when even Christian Slater can't afford to go out there. And there's no escaping, as local singer Lily Allen discovered when she was barred entry to the US. The British mapping agency caused further bad karma, by blocking a 3-D representation of London in Google Earth. But the smiles returned to Londonist's faces as they interviewed Baroness von Reichardt,......

While SFist cringed at the fatal dose of crime littering the Bay Area, it found solace in Hillary Clinton's San Francisco campaign headquarters opening, which featured loads of exposed mammary glands. In other news, SF Taxi Commission ruled that Satan's cab must keep its (in)famous medallion number, 666; and in an un-fashion-forward frenzy, San Francisco Fashion Week (chortle) bars bloggers from covering and getting smashed at their shows and parties, respectively. Also, they found a......

The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. Heh heh. Hearing somebody actually try to pitch some classic video games of the past makes you realize how insane the premises of some of them really are. (Via) Yay! 1UP has more terrible video game box art for us (via)! Meanwhile, Yahoo has the Top 10 Cheesiest Classic Game Commercials (via). Okay, maybe not really Greek. My version of Greek. Because I'm not Greek. That's a lie, actually: somewhere far down the family tree, there are Greeks on my maternal grandmother's side of the family. But I didn't learn Greek cooking from them. So I just try to replicate and/or improve on Greek food I get in restaurants. I've made this recipe a few times, and I change it every time I do. What you......

If you follow Philly music, last spring you probably heard about a great alt-country band called One Star Hotel who broke up after opening for Wilco on a European tour. You may also have heard about how OSH’s front man and lyricist, Steve Yutzy-Burkey, started a new band with his wife Krista (keys & vox), former OSH bandmate Rick Sieber (bass), and Scott French (drums). You might have heard that the band was called......

The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. Cheer up, folks - the worst day of the year is already over! (Via) Gemotion is a new type of screen for projected video that actually bulges and collapses in synch with the graphics on it. It's real 3D! That's kind of cool, but also kind of creepy... (Via) Sigh. We have to add a new blog to our already crowded......

Robbers on High Street have been generating a lot of good buzz after the release of their album, Tree City. It's one of the better albums to hit store shelves this year, even garnering comparisons to the high and mighty Spoon, who released the equally awesome Gimme Fiction this year. But Spoon's been around for a while, and we've all had plenty of chances to see them. Today, we're all about giving you a chance......
