After five months of unemployment, I'm happy to say I'm now in a job that was worth the wait. I love my job; I love the people I work with; I love my office. We occupy the entire floor of an Old City rowhome. There are no individual offices—we work in one big room and the ideas and conversation (and, admittedly, gossip) all flow freely. There's always music on, the decor is hip yet homey, and communal lunches or happy hours aren't uncommon. Even the most stressful days at work are mitigated with lots of laughter. I am a lucky, lucky girl.
What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Paranormal State (Mon, 10PM-11PM, A&E) - The debut of a new reality show featuring members of Penn State University's Paranormal Research Society investigating reports of paranormal phenomena. During this hour, they seem to be playing two episodes, one about a boy who can supposedly see dead people, and another about a supposedly haunted house where murders were committed. Fun around town, for $10 or less: The Monday Night Club at Bar Noir: Notebooks 9.0 - "Comedian Danny Ozark’s sex-oriented bi-trans-straight-gay open mic. Always packed. Always raw" at Bar Noir (112 S. 18th Street). Movie Monday at The Troc: Bring your "O" face for Office Space. Johnny Goodtimes hosts a pre-film "Wheel of Terrific." Doors open at 6, the show starts at 7:30 and you must be 21+ to attend. The Troc is located at 1003 Arch Street. $3 admissions is applicable towards food or beverage.
