What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Nova (Tue, 8PM-9PM, WHYY & WLVT) - This episode apparently consists mainly of footage of a war between termites and fierce, dragon-shaped army ants. The ants are used by a Cameroon tribe known as the Mofu to protect their huts and granaries from the termites. Good times! Wired Science (Wed, 8PM-9PM, WHYY & WLVT) - As always, a great big hodge podge of crazy applications of science......

In the last few weeks, the Eagles have looked absolutely anemic against the Giants, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against da' Bears, and unimpressively beaten a couple hopeless teams in the Jets and the Vikings by a mere touchdown apiece. So forgive me for not being that optimistic about Sunday night's game against the Cowboys. Sure, our defense has been fairly solid... if we forget that last 1:57 of the Bears game, where......

Ah, what I wouldn't give to be the average George Bush supporter at this very moment in time. If I could, then I could delusionally ignore what I have just seen and pretend like everything is all right with "the home team." Yes, the Eagles just thoroughly dominated the overmatched Jets! The news has just broken that Philadelphia has been eliminated from contention to host the 2016 Summer Olympics. The three cities that did make the cut were Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Houston was the other city eliminated of the five that were under consideration by the United States Olympic Committee. This is bad news, of course, and for a few reasons. First, it would have been totally awesome to see the Olympics......

...Insanity: Connie Chung might just be crazy. The best part is where she gets off the piano and grunts like it really takes effort. (We first saw it on The Colbert Report, but the video is hosted on YouTube and embedded above. ...Street Cred: Lindsay Lohan is a thug. (Via The Superficial.) Or maybe Sean Combs is just a bully. (Via What Would Tyler Durden Do?) ...Movies Scenes Happening in Real Life: Paris Hilton......

- CBS is reporting during their broadcast of today's Chargers/Jets game that Andy Reid has announced that Terrell Owens is not suspended, but rather, inactive. Reid wishes to keep his options open, he told reporters. We're not really NFL rules experts here at Phillyist, but we're pretty sure coaches can activate and deactivate players up until game time. So, who knows. There are about 5 more hours to go until game time, so Owens could......
