This Saturday, The Mann promises to be the place for great music. Nine time Grammy Award Winner and kick ass guitar player Bonnie Raitt and recent inductee to the Blues Hall of Fame and all around bad mamma jamma, Taj Mahal, will kick off their summer tour - the Bontaj Roulet Project - by bringing their smoky and delicious blues to the Philadelphia music scene. Backed by their individual bands, the concert will feature both artists as individuals, each playing their own full set and will end the night with a blow-out collaborative performance.

Need some variety in your life? Melange Variety Cabaret...On The Fringe is the ticket for you. It features belly dancing, music (R&B, blues, jazz, indie), clowning, puppetry, electronic music gadgetry... and, well, basically it's a cabaret! The remaining three shows promise to be lively and unlike any other show in Fringe. Which, considering the craziness variety that is Fringe, is certainly saying something. The full lineup can be seen here. Catch them tonight, Friday, and Saturday; tickets for the weekend can be had online, but for tonight you'll need to get 'em at the door. The last time I saw Cat Power perform was the first and only time I saw the entire Trocadero fall in love at once. Her voice and her persona could only be described as haunting yet powerful. Some people showed in the hopes that she'd fall apart, as she has been wont to do, but a lot happens in a decade. Much more centered by the time The Greatest dropped, Chan Marshall prowled the stage like a sexy animal that was caged no longer.
