The Sixers spanked the Knicks (124-84) on Wednesday night at the Wach. Tonight they will be in Orlando, then they’ll turn around and host the Magic on Wednesday at 7PM (get tickets or watch here). Here’s hoping that’ll be two for two. Tomorrow they’ll match up with the Miami Heat, against whom they are 2-0 this season. Flyers aren’t doing too good: their loss to the San Jose Sharks (3-1) last night at home was......

After losing to the Knicks (81-89) on Friday and beating the Charlotte Bobcats away Saturday night (103-96), the Sixers hope to score big at home: seven of their next eight games are at the Wachovia Center. Catch them Wednesday battling the Milwaukee Bucks at 7PM (get tickets or watch). The Flyers had a break for the All-Star game, but now have to defend their #1 status with wins against the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday night......

After losing to the Pacers Monday (110-103), and the Pistons Wednesday (86-78), the Sixers are hoping to beat the Knicks tonight. They’re hoping that snaps them out of the losing funk they’ve been in, which has seen them lose 10 of their last 12 games. The Flyers lost out big time to the Devils this week (7-3), but conquered the Penguins last night (4-3). Everybody’s eye is on the Atlantic Division, which is in a......

In the last few weeks, the Eagles have looked absolutely anemic against the Giants, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against da' Bears, and unimpressively beaten a couple hopeless teams in the Jets and the Vikings by a mere touchdown apiece. So forgive me for not being that optimistic about Sunday night's game against the Cowboys. Sure, our defense has been fairly solid... if we forget that last 1:57 of the Bears game, where......

Sorry, folks. No diary today. Simply put, now is not the time for witty jokes and non sequiturs about my English Bulldog or P.J. Harvey’s latest work. I am not even going to ramble on about how brilliant Radiohead’s latest album is, and how they make overrated, whiny droners like The National look like rank amateurs. Sometimes one must discard structure, and get their rant on…and this is one of those times. I’ve seen some......

Protest over national vs. regional chains, the never-ending debate over the place of cars and bicycles in our metropolises, professional sports scandals, remembering a solemn day, and being issued a search warrant - it all happened across our sites this week! Another banner week at Chicagoist started off with daily reports from food writer Lisa Shames on her attempt to eat only locally grown and raised foodstuffs all week as part of a farmers market......

Happy first weekend of September - and happy Labor Day weekend, too, for our American cities! Let's take a look at what's been happening around the Ist-a-verse. The deaths of two firefighters shook Bostonist this week. Boston's firefighters bent over backwards all week long - first, they fought flames pouring from the Boston Tea Party museum, and then a restaurant fire killed two and injured many more. Their efforts make everything else - like Tom......

Readers: I'm currently performing in, helping to choreograph, and acting as the dance captain of a musical that goes up this week. It's left me a bit delirious and really quite hungry. Apologies for the off-beatness... Once upon a midnight dreary, I was dancing, weak and weary, To the jazzy beats of a difficult Coleman score. While I counted, madly clapping, I soon noticed quite a tapping, From my stomach, no longer napping, napping as......

A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you. Let us all agree right now: The Police were awesome. Or, we should say, are awesome, because they're *gasp* playing together again, at the opening of the Grammys. Which is the only good reason we think we've ever heard to watch the Grammys. Oh those wacky Hollywood people and their wacky remake/sequels. Turns out they're planning to do a sequel to The Departed,......

What's new and/or interesting on TV this week. Antiques Roadshow (Mon; 8PM-9PM; PBS [WHYY]) - It's part two of three of this show's visit to Philly. This time we've got some magazines, a maquette, and a chair. Um...woo hoo? Arm Wrestling (Mon; 9PM onward; ESPN2) - Thank god for ESPN2 (especially now that football season is essentially over). They support those other sports - the ones you didn't even know existed, or at least never......

There are several questions that will rattle around in our heads for a while, tormenting us while seeing highlights of the remainder of the playoffs, particularly while at whatever dispirited Super Bowl party we attend, telling ourselves it's about being with friends instead of "the game." The 2.5 million dollar commercials will be funny at times, there’ll be lots of beer, some disgusting nacho dip that defies ocular sense by tasting good, and maybe it’ll......

Sunday. Usually, a quiet, contemplative day in the Blogosphere. But not here in the Ist-a-Verse. Nonono! Just look below and see all of the wild and crazy stuff our staffs are up to. In Austin, bands are beginning to confirm for SXSW and the rumor mill is up and running. Good thing, too, because we all know how much Austinites love live performances. Austin also found itself in the national spotlight, with Longhorn Legend......

Update: A few more sites have been added, and a few other fixes have been made. The -ists this week had politics on the brain. And what goes better with politics than partying? That's two great tastes in one. Oh, and Kevin Federline...can't forget about Kevin Federline. That's three great tastes in one. -Bostonist discussed two big state issues-- what sort of math constitutes a marriage and what kind of alcohol can be sold......

Sorry, guys! We're distracted by Heroes as we write this, so no pointless babble here. Just go check out what our sister sites are doing! Austinist tells you how to vote so you don't have to think. Sweet! Parisist: Now, why on earth would anyone think that Parisians were rude? Chicagoist: Da Bears! SFist: Why doesn't John Street have him some fun affairs? Houstonist: Care to start a pool? How long before the fatal......

Let's take a look back at a week that raised this Zen koan: if Kevin Federline got into a wrestling ring with a wrestler, who would you root for? Austinist was in an entertainment state of mind as they covered the dickens out of the Austin Film Festival, depicted all the Big 12 football coaches as South Park characters, and interviewed Jose Gonzalez. Chicagoist talked about the passion as they bid adieu to Bell's......

We're blue jean people. And we have an office job that we can't wear blue jeans to. That was fine all summer. But now it's getting cold. We're doing laundry almost daily. And we don't have a shopping budget. Austinist: This headline made us happy. Parisist: We think we've seen this guy in our neighborhood! Bostonist: We're waiting for this to be approved for people. Gothamist: This is news? SFist: Poor ferret! Chicagoist: Not Kansas......

Everything seemed a little too familiar during last night's Eagles loss to the Washington Redskins. T.O., as you have undoubtedly heard by now, was suspended without pay, suspended with pay, deactivated or something before last night's game and the Eagles went to work without him. A 56-yard TD reception by Owens replacement Reggie Brown soothed Eagles fans early on, but it didn't last long. The once-dominant Eagles defense missed tackles and let the Washington Redskins......

Well, this weekend won't be as good as last weekend, but it's not terrible. If we were to structure this post by going from the biggest to the smallest, we'd be taking you from the worst to the best. We'll spare you of that, we assure you. Hustle and Flow isn't on many people's radars. At least not compared to Michael Bay's The Island and Billy Bob Thornton's Bad News Bears. It should be,......
