The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. Terrence Howard's being replaced by Don Cheadle in Iron Man 2. This is sort of good news, insofar as we really love Don Cheadle, but we also feel oddly sad to see Howard go. He really seemed to want to put on that suit. Ah, well. Behold, the hottest movie-related Halloween costumes of 2008! We're happy to hear that "slutty Playboy......

The Daily News and the Inquirer both have more detail on the suspect arrested in that October 5th road rage shooting. The Daily News story reveals the man is so upset over what happened, he attempted suicide. Someone sent a threatening letter containing a suspicious substance to Barack Obama's South Philadelphia campaign office at 15th and Christian streets. The office was evacuated, but initial tests determined the substance was brown sugar. Meanwhile, McCain was......

The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you. Some interesting entertainment news tidbits from Cinematical: production of Darren Aronofsky's The Fighter may or may not be in trouble, depending on who you believe; a theme park in the UK is going to have a ride based on the Saw films; and there are some new pics of Samuel L. Jackson and the late Bernie Mac in......

People, the Phillies are just one win away from the World Series. That is crazy. The Philadelphia School District is suffering from a high number of teacher vacancies, which experts say points to systemic problems in the hiring process. Mark Wahlberg is in town with Ludacris pitching their new film Max Payne, and the Inquirer takes the opportunity to explain why Wahlberg is an honorary Philadelphian. The Parkway Council Foundation and the Center City......

Things got hot in LA this weekend and it looks like we may have a real series on our hands. A few head-seeking fastballs, a little bench-clearing, and a whole lot of jawing just turned this NLCS into a tense and competitive slugfest. Game 4 is tonight. Joe Blanton is winless in Chavez Ravine this season. Derek Lowe is pitching on 3-days rest. Gear up, Philly, this could get good as the Phils try......

This is not a column about politics. This is not a column about politics because, honestly, I'd be just as annoyed—pissed, even—if Obama's supporters shouted "off with her head!" or "terrorist!" when he mentioned Sarah Palin at a campaign rally and he did nothing to quiet them. Politics are never nice, but this election is getting particularly nasty, in a bloodcurdling, hateful way. Attack somebody for his experience. Criticize someone for her platform. Hell:......

The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment. Plenty of fun stuff has come out of Blizzcon, so settle in. Joystiq has coverage of the lore panels for Diablo III and Starcraft II. More importantly, Earnest at Game|Life actually got his hands on Diablo III. We're a little dubious about some of the changes he describes, but his impressions seem very positive overall, so we'll see. Anyway, the screenshots......

Yesterday the Phillies had their first loss of the NLCS, while the Eagles (after a shaky three quarters or so) pulled it together to win and break their recent losing streak. Is there some rule that both teams can't both be winning at the same time? Hey, it's Columbus Day! The Daily News covers a local Columbus Day Parade, and let's us know what's open and what's closed today. A 28-year-old man accused of fatally......

A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you. We posted a link to an xkcd comic a while back wherein a character created a virus that would force commenters on YouTube to listen to any comments they tried to make by reading their words back to them aloud. The idea was to shame them with their own stupidity. Clever and funny—and now, reality. The developers at YouTube created an option that......

The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment. Read about the winners of this year's Ig Nobel Prize, "the annual award given by the Annals of Improbable Research magazine for oddball but often surprisingly practical scientific achievements." Bruce Springsteen will play a free show on the Parkway this Saturday as part of an open-air rally for Barack Obama. The latest poll shows Obama still leading John McCain in Pennsylvania. In fact, thanks to efforts by the Obama campaign in the area, Democrats now have a 1.1 million registration edge in Pennsylvania, with large gains in the traditionally Republican Philadelphia suburbs. Yesterday, local Jewish leaders criticized a poll performed by the Republican Jewish Coalition that targeted 750 Jewish voters in swing states, including 150 in Pennsylvania. It sounds like the thing was a push poll that was attempting to convince voters that Obama is pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel. Authorities issued a warrant yesterday for Dorien Oberlton's arrest in the case of Tuesday's vicious beating of Eric Derrickson in an underground subway concourse. A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets. In honor of the release of Righteous Kill, which stars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, we have a very special Cinematical Seven which asks you to vote on competing Pacino and De Niro performances. I was walking home from work last night when I saw our Governor, Mr. Ed Rendell, speaking in front of a podium in the middle of the sidewalk on the corner of 12th and Arch. It seemed like an odd place for him to be until I realized that John McCain had been across the street in Reading Terminal Market earlier. As Ed tried to refute things McCain had said, and support his man Barack......

Michael's been living large at the Democratic National Convention. Apparently, Hillary Clinton heard about our mayor's wicked mic skills, because he was asked to serve as emcee of Hillary's pre-roll call reception, where she announced to her supporters that she would release her delegates to nominate Barack Obama by acclamation. Speaking of the convention, we really hope Michael's staffers are having a good time and getting our money's worth for their little excursion. It......
