Case in point: Hats of Meat, which celebrates making and wearing hats made out of raw meat. Why does this happen? We can't even begin......

A week's worth of local Craigslist hijinks. How's this for a Paris to Philly housing swap? You provide one beautiful apartment near the Eiffel Tower and your BMW and I give you my crumbling West Philly twin and a Septa pass. Should that not work out, maybe I'll hit up this guy for his offer of free rent in exchange for deep friendship. The kind of friendship that is so consuming you are not allowed......

Local writer/director/producer Michael Gleason recently sent us a link to his short comic news piece called "Arrgh! Taxes!" which we were planning on profiling today given that it is April 15th. However, one of his other pieces struck a chord with us about a topic near and dear to this column's heart: environmentalism. In his clip "Eco-tistical," he defines being eco-tistical as "someone who is more concerned about looking like they are concerned about the......

Looking back on a week's worth of local craigslist hijinks... True love is hard to find, but this man's free car comes complete with a history of all the trials and tribulations of love... and maybe even a few stains! (Thanks, Eric!) This article actually discusses why the two Democratic candidates for president have not yet visited a cheesesteak shop while in Philadelphia, while this article discusses why they haven't talked about urban housing issues. At Fourth and Arch Streets at 3:45PM yesterday, a car ran a red light, collided with another vehicle, then went up onto the sidewalk and injured three pedestrians, one of them critically. The drivers had only minor injuries. The four teens charged......

Biodegradable beer cups were the news of the day over at The Illadelph, which lauded Aramark's move toward more environmentally-friendly containers for the liver- and waistline-destroying treats served at Citizens Bank Park. Also, did you know that on opening day Phillies fans will eat, among other things, 15,000 hot dogs, 6,000 soft pretzels and 5,000 cheesesteaks? For more than five years, Philadelphians have been ditching their own cars in favor of those owned by PhillyCarShare. The program's fleet of sedans, hybrids (which comprise more than 50% of the fleet), convertibles, and pick-up trucks has provided the right wheels for the job for thousands of part-time drivers in our fair city. Each car shared by PhillyCarShare members replaces about 23 individually-owned vehicles. The company itself has become a much-loved local success story......

Ah, it's a bad photograph of a car! And that can mean only one thing: the Philadelphia International Auto Show is almost here! We're finding it hard to believe that it's already that time again, but it must be true, because whenever we go within a four block radius of the Convention Center, we see dozens of large trucks full of cars. And we snapped this shot this morning of one classic specimen already......

The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you. Dear Philadelphia: About a year ago, I was walking through my (now-former) West Philadelphia neighborhood. It had snowed a few days before, and the sidewalks were clear enough, I guess, for a careful pedestrian, and the streets were definitely passable for automobiles. That's because all of the snow from the sidewalks and streets had been piled at the corners of the intersections. You know, where there's a little gentle incline so that, I don't......

Cars of all kinds have taken over the Pennsylvania Convention Center this week for the Philadelphia International Auto Show, which runs through February 11. It's an auto bonanza with plenty of current cars on the floor, plus a few concept cars, antiques and tricked out autos.
