What Makes You Happy?

garden05-16-07.jpg

We are a creature of the sun. We're at our best in the spring and summer when the sun is shining and we're bopping around town in a sundress and sandals. Unlike the misery that is the dead of the winter, in these warm months, our mind turns toward happy thoughts.

Knowing that, our friend turned us on to a new Web site, Whatmakesushappy.com. People post daily, listing five things that make them happy. The posters are grateful for things big and small, from good hugs and kitten kisses, to promotions and dancing barefoot in the grass. We have found that nothing takes the edge off of the 3 p.m. work slump like reading about the things someone else was thankful for that day. Pictured above is our current happy place, Azalea Gardens, where we picnic weekly with our friends, offsetting a healthy dinner with the Ketel One mixed into our cranberry juice.

There's a saying, "Energy goes where attention flows." With Philadelphia's death toll clocking in at over 150, this city could use some positive energy. So click here and get happy.
