Whiz of the Web: Tuesday Torpedoes
The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you.

- Weren't we just saying something recently about how whenever something cool happens the big boys have to come in and ruin it for everybody? Case in point. (Via Editor Jill)
- India Today has some great details on our hero Wes Anderson's new movie, The Darjeeling Limited. As usual, it's packed with stars and sounds exceedingly weird. We can't wait! (Via)
- The Movie Blog would like you to know, despite what you've heard, that the sequel to Superman Returns will begin filming in 2008. But we're not sure they've heard the rumor that the movie might be scrapped in favor of a Justice League film. Well, if it does come out, we just hope they don't actually call it Superman Returns 2.
- The trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is on the web, folks, and you can watch it right here (well, theoretically, anyway; beware the buffering!). We said this about the last one, too, but... it looks crazy awesome! (Via)
- Pop art on crushed pop cans! Brilliant!
- XPN's got a download from local band Hoots & Hellmouth on their blog this morning, and we can't say no to that. It's "Home in a Boxcar" off their self-titled debut!
- A report released by a security firm yesterday reveals that more hack attacks (are those like Big Mac attacks?) originate from inside the US than from anywhere else. Woo hoo! U-S-A! U-S-A!
- Man, we're thinking of giving up posting any kind of casting news anymore. It all turns out to be fake! Now we get word that Jake Gyllenhaal is in fact not in talks to play Captain Marvel, although he is likely to be considered when they even start talking about actually casting the movie. So we're not even going to mention the very shaky rumor that Jennifer Garner might play Spock's love interest in the next Star Trek movie. Or that James Gandolfini or Alan Dale may be playing gangster Sal Maroni in The Dark Knight.
- List time! Cinematical picks seven unforgettable death scenes.
- A sequel to 300?! Sounds like a ridiculously stupid, and even impossible, idea, but thankfully it would be more of a spiritual sequel than a direct sequel; Miller is thinking of adapting another mythic tale from Greek history.
