Proofreading Philly
Proofreading Philly tries to capture typos, wordos, and all other kinds of grammatical mistakes that we see around the city. But we need your help! Email photos to us from your computer or your phone, and show the city that you care about good grammar.
We love DailyCandy, both for our own personal gain and because they sometimes give us great ideas for posts here on Phillyist. We find them smart, clever, and, for the most part, grammatically correct. So imagine our dismay at seeing yesterday's DailyCandy Philadelphia email, with the egregious use of a possessive apostrophe when the word was merely supposed to be pluralized a singular verb! (You can click the image above to see it full-size.)
For shame, DailyCandy! We really expect better of you.

"Knows" is actually singular, not plural. ("They know." "He knows.")
Whoops! In my manic rage against bad grammar, I was typing faster than I was thinking. Thanks, Naomi. I'll make the correction now.
kind of ironic that you also made a typo... what's that saying about glass houses and stones?
I know. I'm hanging my head in shame.
