Phillyist Wants To Know....Who Has the Most Irritating Campaign Ads
We here at Phillyist HQ (secreted, naturally, deep in the bowels of the city, possibly beneath the swaying ramps of Lincoln Financial, or perhaps below the old Water Works - but definitely somwhere close to free Wi Fi and an ample supply of cheese steaks and scrapple) often pose questions of extreme unimportance to one another - such as "Who has the best grilled cheese in the city?", "Why isn't it five o'clock yet?" and "Exactly how many more posts do I have to compose before you'll let me see my family again?" We have realized, in the course of these ponderings, that we don't know all that much - but it occurs to us that you, our both gentle and acerbic readers, probably know quite a bit.
It is in this spirit we've decided to start a new weekly feature we are currently dubbing "Phillyist Wants to Know" (resisting the urge to call it "Yo or No," mostly because we refuse to give that boxing movie any more press until it comes out and we can avoid it no longer) where we solicit your opinion on a specific topic so that we can learn from you. Knowing you to be an opinionated lot, we hope this feature will run in perpetuity. Or at least until the Powers That Be determine that we've posted enough, and we are permitted to see daylight again.
This week, Phillyist wants to know:
(We were going to make this PA candidates only, but since our local affiliates run ads for NJ candidates too, consider them fair game.) Personally, Phillyist finds all the ads currently running abhorent; mostly because we've only seen ones claiming what the opposition is doing wrong, not what the candidate in question plans to do right. Still - we're certain at least one of these folks will come out on top. Or, er, bottom. Will it be Swann? Rendell? Santorum? Harris? Leave your thoughts in the comments. Unlike the real elections, you may feel free to vote early, often, or even in Spanish.
If you tend to switch off the ads (like we do), you can study up on some of the ads on You Tube. After all, it's important to do your research before any vote.
