Whiz of the Web: Wednesday Whiz-Up
The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you.

- Rumor is that Gamestop and EB will begin accepting pre-orders for the Nintendo Wii later this week. If the lines at Gamestops and EBs for the beginning of PS3 pre-ordering yesterday are any indication, you might want to get there early! Oh, and don't forget to pick up some accessories.
- We would be remiss if we did not present to you the latest poster for Rocky Balboa, especially since you can see a bit of a wintry Philly in the background. The caption reads "It ain't over 'til it's over." Some would argue it was over years ago, but we're still interested to see if Stallone can drag another decent movie out of this character.
- The final official Guitar Hero II song list is at long last available - minus the 15 unlockable bonus tracks, anyway.
- We love Terry Gilliam, and not just because he was a member of Monty Python and has made tons of amazing films. We also love him because he says things like this: "I'm thinking of suing George Bush and Dick Cheney for making the remake of 'Brazil' without my approval. Their version isn’t as funny, though." (Via)
- Speaking of Terry Gilliam, here's an amusing video short about the ultimate collectible that we think has a bit of the style and humor of the old man in it. (Via)
- Another weird, cult filmmaker who makes some pretty interesting movies is in the news: David Lynch. He made a massive three-hour digital video feature called Inland Empire that Studio Canal wanted him to cut down. He refused to do so, and now he says he's distributing the thing himself, although no one seems to know how. Door to door, perhaps? Regardless, we'll be interested in seeing it. Apparently it already sceened at the New York Film Festival last week; maybe we should hit up Gothamist for more info... (Via Jill)
- Heh. The founders of YouTube talk about their company's acquisition by Google...in a corny amateur YouTube video. How appropriate. (Via)
