Streakers

A few days ago, a friend emailed us to say that he was ready to drink the Phillies Kool Aid and believe that this is for real. We advised him to hold off because we had a feeling that this could be a very streaky team. They seemed prone to putting together long winning and long losing streaks. After going 13-1, the Phils have dropped two to the Milwaukee Brewers. We’re not saying that this is the start to a long losing skid, but it does go to show that while this may be a good team that enjoyed some wild success in the last few weeks, reality might be pinching in soon.
Cole Hamels takes the mound again tonight. Will he pitch another gem? Will Charlie Manuel leave him in for more than five innings? Will Shane Victorino run into any walls? Tune in to today’s 1:05 p.m. early game if you can.
Speaking of Victorino, check out this fan website, which is an offshoot of the site for Maui Real Estate. "Flyin’ Hawaiian" is about as good a nickname as you can get.
One more, kids: The Inquirer pointed out this Cole Hamels website in yesterday’s paper. If you’re familiar with Chuck Norris facts, you’ll get it. Our favorite? Santa Claus asks for Cole in his stocking.
