TelePhillyist

What's interesting on TV this week.

Yo Momma (Mon; 6PM-6:30PM; MTV) - MTV has a new show! "Is it about music?" you ask. "Not remotely!" we answer. In fact, it's a trash-talking tournament hosted by Wilmer Valderrama from "That 70s Show." Finalists are even given personal information on their targets via "home invasions" so their insults can carry some serious sting. Oy. (Official Site)

King of Cars (Tue; 10PM-10:30PM; A&E) - There's so many of them that even complaining about the fact that there are so many of them has become cliche, and yet here's another reality show. This time it's about the sales staff of a Las Vegas car dealership. No doubt it will involve vapid and empty people doing cruel and outrageous things to each other. We'll pass. (Official Site)

Smallville (Thu; 8PM-9PM; WB) - Looks like it's a very special episode of "Smallville" Thursday night when Lana gets hooked on a serum made from green kryptonite. Good lord. Meanwhile, our beloved James Marsters (Spike from "Buffy" and "Angel") returns as Professor Fine (the future Brainiac). (Official Site)

Ghost Whisperer (Fri; 8PM-9PM; CBS) - They're turning things around on "Ghost Whisperer;" the main character of this show gets upset when all of the sudden she can't see dead people. But we think she should calm down. We bet she'll be able to see them just fine by the next episode. (Official Site)

The Simpsons (Sun; 8PM-8:30PM; Fox) - The nuclear power plant is finally outsourced to India, and Patty and Selma finally kidnap guest voice Richard Dean Anderson (star of their favorite show, "MacGuyver"). Unfortunately for the nation of India, Homer is sent to train the new employees; and unfortunately for Patty and Selma, Richard Dean Anderson refuses to leave. "The Simpsons" isn't as reliable as it once was, but this sounds pretty promising. (Official Site)
